You know you watch too much TV when...

...you speak in dialogue to your family and friends. "What did you do at school today?" "The following events take place between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m."

...you interrupt conversations with family and friends by inserting a commercial break just when it's getting interesting. "...then he got down on one knee--" "Next on Eyewitness News at 10"

...you start to believe TV characters are your family and friends.

...you wonder why there's no symphony playing in the background right before you go in for a kiss. Or get scared. Or are sad. Or are happy.

...you watch a marathon of Alias on DVD. Then at work you help a customer you've never seen before who tells you her life story and you become convinced that she is a double agent trying to gain your trust so she can destroy you and everyone you love. Not that I did that. Last year.

it's only a problem when the only conversation you can have is about what was on TV this week. "Forget about the war in Iraq, did you see last week's episode of the office? HILARIOUS!!"
