I love Primary and I will tell you why. It was my turn to conduct closing exercises in Primary this week and we had an upcoming birthday. The practice in our ward is for each child to fill out a questionnaire at the beginning of the year. Whenever there's a birthday all the kids stand and gradually sit down as the answers do not apply to them. Well, this last week the birthday boy was a turning four and did not have a questionnaire. His mom is the first counselor and she had me pull him out of class for a moment to ask him the questions. She said he would give me more honest answers. Hehehe. I took the paper with me and went down the list.
Me: Where were you born?
Him: Heaven.
Me: You were? Where were you born when your mommy had you?
Him: Um...outside.
Me: Okay. What's your favorite color?
Him: Yellow and green.
Me: What's your favorite story from the scriptures?
Him: Heavenly Father
Me: And what's your favorite primary song?
Him: Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam
Me: I like that one, too. What's your favorite thing to do?
Him: Play towers. ("towers" was actually "Star Wars", but his mom had to tell me that)
Me: That sounds fun. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Him: Free
Me: Oh, okay. What do you want to do for a job when you grow up?
Him: Uh...I just want to play all day.
The second answer to the first question was my favorite. I really wonder where "outside" came from. And his answer to the last question...I would have to agree.

i like it.
That's why I love kids.
I am finding that I am enjoying primary far more than I thought I would.
I love the random answers and the sunbeams who shout instead of singing. It's awesome.
