Today. Is. Awesome.

Last week my daughter went peepee in her potty for the first time.  I don't think she really knew what she'd done, but it was all kinds of great.  The next day was free admission at the zoo and I decided we could put training on hold for that.  Today was the day we started again.  Treats were given and she sat on the potty.  I left the room to answer the phone and then heard a scream from Ellie.  I thought she'd dropped her cup. If only.  Instead, she'd dropped her own little "bomb" on the carpet next to the potty and was upset about it.  It had, after all, gotten on her legs and her princess dress.  Cleaning up poop from the carpet was not awesome.

Despite that bit of non-awesomeness the day was still...awesome.  We got word that we've been approved to build a house!!!  AWESOME!!!!!!  That was more than enough to cancel out the non-awesomeness of a poopy carpet.

Several weeks ago we put in our application for the Rural Housing Development's mutual self-help program.  Groups of 6-10 families get together (with the  help of a contractor) to build each others' homes.  We're not sure when construction will start, but we're totally stoked.  I'm excited to choose the carpet all our other kids will poop on.
