Hooray Today!

Do you know what today is?  Do you?  It's groundbreaking day for the house!  Ta da!  There's a little ceremony on one of the lots (not ours) with gold shovels and the whole bit.  Eric and I will be taking a minute or two to share our thoughts on the program and then we all have punch and cookies.  I'm not sure who else will be speaking, but there will be a few other people, too.  I'm not sure when our foundation will be dug but that should happen fairly soon.  We closed on the loan yesterday.  It's so exciting that everything is in place to get started!  We're not entirely sure yet of when we start framing.  It should be in a month or so.  We feel like we're getting started on a big adventure.  It really is a new phase in our life together and we couldn't be happier.

The picture at the top is the land that, as of yesterday, is OURS!  The finger in the corner is mine, also.  The lens on our new camera is in the corner and I haven't gotten used to that yet.  The picture to the right is our preliminary selection for the main stucco color and the stone.  Eric and I both chose that color on our own.  Twice.  It was meant to be.  We still need to choose another stucco color for the trim and several other color options. We haven't had our selection day yet, but we went in early to make the big decisions so that we will know exactly what we want when that day does come.  I keep saying we're excited, but that really doesn't cover it.  At all. There aren't really words.
