Maya had been teething for several days and the top right tooth just didn't seem to want to break through. The other three hadn't been much of a problem. At dinner we were surprised when Maya starting shrieking and crying for all she was worth. I knew it was the tooth. I'd been watching and waiting for it. I just didn't know it would be this painful. She was shaking with the pain and the screams. It was pretty heartbreaking.
I ran to find the tube of Baby Orajel to numb up those sad little gums. Ellie followed me and asked what I was doing. I said, "I'm looking for something to help baby Maya feel better." About then I found the tube and dashed off to take care of my baby's pain.
Just as I finished applying the Orajel we noticed Ellie walk in the room. "Help Maya," she said. Then Ellie stretched out her arms and held out a bottle of baby Tylenol in one hand and a medicine dropper in the other. It was the sweetest thing. I don't think I've ever been more proud of her. Now I just need to move the medicine. Apparently Ellie knows where it is and can get to it herself.
